Note growth in sales in 2010 in zip 92101 over 2008 and 2009.
Downtown condo sales are making a comeback. Last year (2009) we had a huge inventory, as we did in 2008, but late in the year (October, ‘09) we began to see sales pick up. As the inventory was reduced, even the prices stabilized…and in some cases, prices increased.
The tax incentives were a huge part of the sales downtown, and we might see a slight dip as those incentives go away, but if the market is truly beginning to stabilize, we will see the sales pick up again. Now, I never thought I’d say this, but, we need more inventory.
