TECHNOLOGY GOES ON VACATION
A vacation is not always a vacation from technology.
Besides packing clothes, make-up, shoes, sunglasses, sun block, and anything else I might need for my much needed vacation, I realize I need to stay “connected”. Not sure why, except I never want to be too far away from my technology toys.
I started thinking about what charger I needed for my phone. What charger and converter I needed for my camera. What charger I needed to charge my “hands-free” phone. What charger I needed to charge my phone when I am in the car I rent. I also need my iPod, so need a charger for that…oh, yes, and I need the head phones. Also, need my charger for my computer. Not sure if I should put this in the same category, but I need my hair dryer. Well, why not? It plugs into the wall, and I need to pack it.
It’s beginning to look like I need more for my technology world than I do for my entire vacation and what I wear?
If it’s anything like when I pack clothes….will I need or use all these gadgets when I’m on vacation….in Hawaii.
GOODBYE 2010 – HELLO 2011
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE….
MAY 2011 BE A HEALTHY, HAPPY, SAFE, PEACEFUL AND PROSPEROUS YEAR.
Take the Train to UniversityVille
SANDAG Board members selected Light Rail Transit Alternative 1, extending the Blue Line from Old Town north to University Towne Center. It will travel east of the I-5, cross over I-5 at Nobel, cross over the east side of I-5 near Voight Drive, head south along Genessee, on to a transit center at UTC.
Expect finish in 2015.
There are currently 250,000 cars crowding the freeway at the I-5, this transit will free up the freeway space.
The businesses along the line include UCSD, Scripps, and Qualcomm. It is now recommended the rail Board add the Veterans Hospital as a stop.
They project this could add 20,000 daily riders.
With many administrators living off UCSD campus, the trolley will add a huge convenience, since parking, and the cost of parking has long been a continuing problem on campus.
SANDAG will continue with impact studies and designs. Federal funding will finance about half of the line construction, while the remainder may have to come from a half cent sales tax.

THIS TOWN IS ‘SOLD OUT’ ALMOST!
It’s that time of year again. Summer. Each week there’s a new convention in town, a new concert, a new restaurant opening, some spectacular play at the La Jolla Playhouse. San Diego has something for everyone.
San Diego is providing the visitors and locals alike, a variety of entertainment. Concerts, races, beaches, plays, zoo, Sea World….it’s all happening here in San Diego. It would be difficult to find a room at any hotel at this time of year.
In a way, I love to hear that San Diego is Sold Out. But as soon as I say that, someone calls to say…”hey, you….What da ya mean Sold Out?…I found a place to stay”. So…So, I guess there will always be a place at the inn. Just depends on what “Inn”.
So here’s just a few fun things to do here in San Diego this summer. Read the rest of this entry »
SAN DIEGO…SO MUCH TO DO….NOT ENOUGH TIME
As my sister prepares to leave after her 10 day vacation with me, here in San Diego, I hear her say….There’s so much to do in San Diego, and never enough time to do it all. I have lived in San Diego since 1997, and I never take advantage of everything San Diego has to offer. I forget that by living in San Diego I am basically living a vacation each day. Have I now taken my San Diego for granted? Read the rest of this entry »
